Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter, reports that AI company Anthropic is fast-tracking its initial public offering, with a roadshow expected to begin as early as mid-October and a U.S. stock exchange listing targeted for just days before the November midterm elections.
According to sources, Anthropic had initially aimed to make its IPO prospectus public as early as this week, but that timeline has shifted to a filing later in September. The overall preparation cycle is tighter than typical IPOs: while companies usually leave several weeks between analyst meetings and the public S‑1 filing, Anthropic’s schedule could be compressed because investment bank analysts are already highly familiar with its business.
As part of its listing strategy, Anthropic is finalizing a roughly $15 billion revolving credit facility. Once the facility is locked in, bank analyst teams are expected to meet formally with Anthropic’s management, paving the way for the subsequent roadshow. Morgan Stanley is leading the credit arrangement, with Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup in prominent roles; those same four banks are also leading the IPO.
Market participants anticipate Anthropic could command a post-IPO valuation as high as $2 trillion, making it one of the largest listings in history and a key test of public-market appetite for AI at trillion-dollar scales. Industry analysts note that a successful debut could prompt other AI leaders, including OpenAI, to advance their own IPO plans, potentially triggering a new wave of AI unicorn listings.
With global AI companies continuing to ramp up capital expenditure on compute and R&D, leading firms are increasingly turning to public markets to fund growth. Investors will be closely watching Anthropic’s pricing and subscription response to gauge acceptance of high-valuation AI “new economy” companies; final timing and valuation details remain subject to market conditions and official confirmation.
