Amid the ongoing global AI boom, Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s high-profile appearance at COMPUTEX Taipei earlier drew worldwide attention. James C.F., Chairman of TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council), noted that AI is rapidly transitioning from technological momentum to real-world implementation. Taiwan, he emphasized, plays a pivotal role in this transformation, and the exhibition aims to continue driving innovation across the tech industry.
This year’s COMPUTEX, themed “AI Together,” focuses on AI computing, robotics and intelligent mobility, and next-generation technologies. Huang highlighted that the event has reached record-breaking scale, with over 100,000 buyers expected to attend, including around 20,000 international visitors. He remarked humorously that some attendees may struggle to secure accommodation near the venue, suggesting that additional hotel infrastructure may be needed.
To help standout exhibitors gain greater visibility, the show features a dedicated “Taiwan Excellence” pavilion, showcasing Taiwan’s comprehensive AI ecosystem. Under the theme “Taiwan AI Island,” the pavilion presents 44 award-winning products and solutions spanning AI infrastructure, smart systems, and everyday applications—demonstrating the breadth and depth of Taiwan’s AI capabilities.
“Robots have existed for decades,” James said, “but Taiwan’s strength lies in integrating AI and computing power into daily life, such as in smart healthcare, where it can assist with early cancer detection and treatment.”
Among the exhibitors, Taiwan-based GIO Optoelectronics Corp presents integrated display solutions combined with translation and generative content. According to Vivi Tai, Assistant Vice President of the company’s Advanced Display Solutions Division, these solutions are already deployed in hotels and airports in Taiwan and Okinawa. The systems can assist travellers in multiple languages, provide directions and information.
Highlights of the Taiwan Excellence pavilion include:
- “AI in Action” scenario demonstrations featuring collaborative robots, AI-powered surveillance drones, and contactless sensing devices
- Next-generation Copilot+ PCs by ASUS and smart EV power modules from Delta
- Key components and sensing solutions supporting next-generation data centers and AI servers
- A “Tech Gallery” in collaboration with VOGUE, blending cutting-edge technology with fashion and lifestyle aesthetics
