In recent years, the Japanese anime and IP economy has flourished, leading to the highly anticipated event “CON-CON® HONG KONG 2026,” scheduled for April at AsiaWorld-Expo. This festival will showcase heavyweight IPs like Gundam, Godzilla, and Jujutsu Kaisen, along with collaborations between local and international brands. Attendees can also look forward to performances from renowned Japanese anime singers and rock bands.
Spanning two days, “CON-CON® HONG KONG 2026” will feature three main themes: “Mix Some NOISE!”, “Mix Some FUN!”, and “Mix Some MUSIC!”.
- Mix Some NOISE!: This segment will highlight iconic IPs like Gundam, Godzilla, and Jujutsu Kaisen, offering thrilling collaborations between local and international brands.
- Mix Some FUN!: Leading brands, including Sony, will present immersive experiences that challenge traditional entertainment boundaries.
- Mix Some MUSIC!: The music festival will feature a lineup of celebrated and popular artists, including Yoko Takahashi, the singer of the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” theme song “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” who returns to Hong Kong after seven years; Maki Ohguro, who performed the song “I’ve Got My Eyes Only On” from the anime “Slam Dunk”; visual kei rock artist MIYAVI, known for his participation in the Chinese variety show “Brother Who Overcame Obstacles”; former “Morning Musume” member Goto Maki; and the popular rock band FLOW, known for their contributions to the anime “Naruto.” The globally popular rock duo Do As Infinity will also perform.
Additionally, ANSON KONG from the popular group MIRROR will surprise fans during the “Mix Some MUSIC!” segment. The singer-songwriter Tyson Yoshi, who just released a short film, and the popular band Lil’ Ash will also take the stage, ensuring an electrifying atmosphere for attendees.
